As your doula, we build a strong relationship prenatally with four prenatal appointments at my office in Emeryville. We talk about your fears, hopes, and dreams for the birth and collaborate on a plan of preparation.

I provide a high level of emotional and physical support during the entire labor and for around two hours postpartum. In my experience, most people do find birth painful to some degree, but with strong support, they can navigate the intensity of labor to have a calm, empowered, and nontraumatic experience.

I serve people planning both medicated and unmedicated births without judgement. My intent is always to help you have the birth experience that is most aligned with your goals.

As challenges and decisions arise, my role is to protect your sense of informed consent during the decision-making process as much as possible.

True emergencies in birth are rare. There is usually time to slow down and I am there to help you ask the questions and get the information you need to understand and consent to your care.

During the postpartum period, I am available as much as needed for lactation support. We have at least one postpartum visit to process the birth. Early postpartum visits take place at home.
